Four journeys, each one built on its hotels
Two to five nights, private, starting in Ho Chi Minh City. Each journey is set by where you sleep: the resort, the nights there and the room level come first, and the boats, drives and visits are arranged around them.

Drive times are our estimates from road distances, about 50 to 60 km an hour once you add town traffic. The expressway from Ho Chi Minh City now runs through to Can Tho over the My Thuan 2 bridge, opened at the end of 2023, which is why Can Tho is the easiest of the three bases to reach.

Choosing by the nights you have
Two nights. Stay at Can Tho. It is the only base close enough to Saigon that a two-night trip does not turn into two days in a car. You get one early morning at Cai Rang and an afternoon at the hotel. The Can Tho river resort journey is built for this.
Three nights. Either add a third night at Can Tho, which we often suggest for the islet resort, or go to Chau Doc instead. Chau Doc, hills and river splits the stay between a hotel on the water and a lodge on Sam Mountain. The drive out is long, so three nights is the minimum we plan there.
Four nights. Can Tho and Chau Doc, two nights at each. This is the shape we suggest most often for a first visit: one river city and one border town with a hill behind it.
Five nights. Saigon, the delta and Phu Quoc uses Cai Be, Can Tho and Chau Doc, then leaves the delta by fast boat from Ha Tien or by the afternoon flight from Can Tho. It suits travellers who want beach time at the end and do not want to go back to Saigon first.
Standards
What is the same on every journey
- Private. One party, one car and driver for the whole trip, the same vehicle from Saigon to the last hotel.
- Hotels named. Your quote names each hotel and room category. We do not write "5-star riverside resort" and choose later.
- Guide when it helps. An English-speaking guide joins on the river mornings and the temple days. On pool afternoons there is no guide, and no charge for one.
- Early starts, free afternoons. River mornings start between 05:30 and 06:30. Afternoons are left open because that is when the hotel earns its rate.
- Honest substitutions. If a hotel on the plan cannot be confirmed, we tell you before we suggest a replacement, and we say if the replacement is a step down.
What we do not sell
This site plans stays on land. We do not sell overnight boats, speedboat day trips from Saigon, cruise shore days or homestays, and we do not attach specialist cooking or photography days to our journeys. If one of those is the centre of your trip, a planner who specialises in it will serve you better.

Common questions
Questions travellers ask most
Can any of these journeys start from Can Tho airport instead of Saigon?
Yes. Can Tho airport is about 9 km from the city centre, and it has domestic flights. Starting there removes the three-hour drive from Saigon on the first day.
Can we combine two journeys?
The four-night journey already combines Can Tho and Chau Doc. Beyond five nights in the delta we usually suggest adding nights at a stay you like rather than adding more towns.
Do the journeys run on fixed dates?
No. Every journey is private and runs on the dates you choose, subject to hotel availability.
Are flights included?
International flights are not. A domestic flight, such as Can Tho to Phu Quoc, can be included in the quote if your route needs one.
