Where to stay in the delta: six stays, compared plainly

Victoria Can Tho Resort

A garden resort on the Hau River in Cai Khe ward, with a colonial-style main building, two outdoor pools, a spa and a restaurant facing the river. Rooms are 28 m²: a Superior room, and Deluxe King rooms with a balcony over the gardens or the pool. The Victoria Suite is 63 m² with two balconies overlooking the Hau River or the gardens. The hotel runs its own boats, including a Cai Rang market departure at 06:00 and a two-hour sunset trip from 16:30.

Choose it for a first visit, for travellers who want to step from the room to the boat with no transfer, and for anyone who will use a pool in the afternoon. Look elsewhere if you want seclusion: it sits on the city side of the river.

Legacy Mekong, Can Tho, on Con Au islet (formerly Azerai)

This resort opened in June 2018 as Azerai Can Tho on Con Au, an islet in the Hau River east of the city centre. It left the Azerai brand in October 2024, and Azerai's own website no longer lists it. It now trades as Legacy Mekong, Can Tho, Autograph Collection, part of Marriott. The hotel's own page gives its address on Con Au islet and says it is reached only by boat, a private boat from a pavilion on the mainland; a Marriott recruitment posting puts the ride at about five minutes. Marriott announced the opening in December 2025 with 86 bungalows and private pool villas. The hotel page lists rooms, bungalows and villas, a main pool and two restaurants, but no total.

Room types and sizes are not all published, so when you ask for it, we confirm the room type and what is open on your dates before we quote. Choose it for the quiet that only an island gives. Look elsewhere if you want to wander the Ninh Kieu riverfront after dinner: every trip off the islet is a boat ride.

Nam Bo Boutique Hotel

Seven suites on the upper floors of a building on Ninh Kieu pier, above the Nam Bo restaurant, which has run since 1998 and reopened in this building in April 2011. The two corner suites face the river; a rooftop bar, L'Escale, sits on the fourth floor. Its published rates for November 2025 to October 2026 run from about 1,780,000 to 2,225,000 VND per suite per night, breakfast not included.

Choose it if you want to be in the middle of the city, on foot from the night market and the river walk, for one or two nights. Look elsewhere if a pool matters; none is listed.

Mekong Lodge sits on the Tien River at Dong Hoa Hiep in Cai Be, now part of Dong Thap province. Its own website describes 26 private bungalows, 12 of them with pools, and gives distances of 120 km to Saigon and 80 km to Can Tho. That website has not visibly been updated for years: its footer is dated 2018, older content dates from 2010, and its room list adds up to more units than it has bungalows.

We still include it because it is the only stay in this part of the delta we would consider at this level. Before we put it in a quote, we confirm that it is operating, which bungalow type is available and how you reach it. If we cannot confirm, the night moves to Can Tho and we tell you why.
